Thanks for checking out Noriu. These terms govern your use of noriu.app and any related services we provide. By using Noriu, you agree to these terms.

What is Noriu?

Noriu is a productivity companion designed for people with ADHD. We help you start tasks, stay on track, and feel good about your progress through an AI-powered experience.

Currently, we're in pre-launch mode with a waitlist. When we launch, Noriu will include features like task management, focus sessions, and an AI companion named Nori.

Important Medical Disclaimer

Please read this section carefully.

Noriu is NOT:

• A medical device - Noriu is a productivity tool, not a medical treatment or therapy.
• A substitute for professional medical advice - If you have ADHD or suspect you might, please consult with a qualified healthcare provider.
• A diagnostic tool - Noriu cannot diagnose ADHD or any other condition.
• A replacement for medication or therapy - Noriu is meant to complement, not replace, professional treatment.

The tips, suggestions, and features in Noriu are based on general ADHD productivity strategies. Everyone's brain is different. Always consult with healthcare professionals for medical decisions.

If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a mental health professional or crisis hotline immediately.

Acceptable Use

When using Noriu, you agree to:

• Use the service lawfully and respectfully
• Provide accurate information (like a real email for the waitlist)
• Not attempt to interfere with or disrupt our service
• Not use automated tools to access or scrape our website
• Not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Not use Noriu for any illegal or harmful activities

We reserve the right to terminate access for anyone who violates these terms.

Intellectual Property

What we own: Noriu owns all rights to the service, including the website design, code, content, logos, and the Nori character. "Noriu" and "Nori" are our trademarks.

What you own: When our app launches, you'll retain ownership of the content you create (like your tasks and notes). We just need a license to store and display it back to you as part of the service.

License to use: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Noriu for personal, non-commercial purposes.

User Content

When our full app launches, you'll be able to create tasks, notes, and other content. For that content:

• You retain ownership of everything you create
• You grant us a license to store, process, and display your content as needed to provide the service
• We don't claim ownership of your data and won't use it for purposes other than providing Noriu to you

Note: During pre-launch, data backup and recovery features may be limited. We'll do our best, but please don't rely on Noriu as your only task storage system just yet.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Noriu running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Things happen.

• The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We may need to take the service offline for maintenance
• We may change, update, or discontinue features without notice
• We may discontinue the service entirely (though we'd give you a heads up if that ever happens)

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noriu and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
• Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use Noriu
• Any decisions you make based on information or suggestions provided by Noriu

This is a productivity tool offering suggestions and structure. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions. Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us (which, if you're on the free tier, would be $0).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Noriu and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of Noriu
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Noriu operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Termination

You can leave anytime: Just stop using Noriu. If you'd like us to delete your data, email us at hello@noriu.app.

We can terminate access: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Noriu if you violate these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. We'll try to give notice when reasonable.

Upon termination, your right to use Noriu ends immediately. Sections that should survive termination (like limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as Noriu evolves. When we make significant changes:

• We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
• For major changes, we'll notify you via email if you're on our list

Continued use of Noriu after changes means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with the changes, please stop using Noriu.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Think of it like removing one LEGO brick from a structure - the rest stays standing.
